Off road misses seeing Jeff & Keven I had many battles with Jeff and Keven through out the years, I'm glad to see they are still racing. The Probst Family eats breaths racing.....

In the early days we used to mount the battery with the plates perpendicular to the chassis so that if the car hit the wall the plates would not break. Now we are told that the AGM batteries are shock proof but they need to be replaced at least once a year because they do not always recharge properly
I have been using an AGM battery in the six pack configuration for two years now in circle track racing because I thought they held up when accidentally bumping into non movable objects. The batteries cost 290 dollars at the Autozone nearby but when they found out we were using them in a race car they voided the warranty.
I wonder if one of your Lithium jobs would be less expensive in the long run and save us some weight.

Hello Sonny,

Recharge time is dependent upon how much energy you actually use during the pass, but most guys are 15 minutes or less. Even a fully dead battery will only take ~1.5 hrs to charge back.

Life expectancy is very good, 4-5 years in a total-loss racecar. Compare to replacing Yellow or Blue Tops every 1-2 years and the price gap is greatly diminished.

Give me a call and we can set you up with a battery!
Thanks,

Lucas

I have a turbo X275 Drag Radial Car with around 1,600 HP with electronic fuel injection, etc. All is electrical with no mechanical.

How fast is recharge time as I test a lot and do not want to be held up between passes on waiting for a battery to charge?

What is life expendancy of these batteries in that they cost so much?

Thanks

Hello Jimefam,

As long as all of your electronics are capable of handling 16V, this should work just fine. Both the T680-16 and L925-16A would be good choices for your application. I assume your RB is boosted, so the compression likely isn't so high that it would make starting difficult.

I noticed you mentioned that you may also run an alternator. Just give us a call, and we can set you up with one of our products. Thanks!
